Benefiting from the design language developed for the Upper Class Suite, a new Economy Seat will enter service in late 2006. The design addresses the constant challenges of comfort, weight, space and strength. Alongside significant improvements in both comfort and space, the major innovation is the introduction of a back pack on the back of each seat, which draws together all the functional elements used by the aft passenger and gives them ownership of this part of the seat.
